CA$60m Lotto MAX Jackpot Dream Come Tr?
A 57-year-old woman from Toronto wins a CA$60 million jackpot after playing for 20 years with the same numbers which her husband saw in a dream. Deng Pravatoudom said through a translator that “All of the difficulties are behind now”, after receiving the enormous cheque on Monday.
Back in 1980 Pravatoudom immigrated to Canada from Laos along with her 14 siblings. She further explained that back in the day her family had nothing and were supported financially by a local church. After working for over 40 years as a general laborer, the mother and grandmother of two was laid off last spring from her job amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being unemployed Pravatoudom continued to play with the same lottery numbers for over 20 years, after her husband coming up with the numbers in a dream.
A Winner’s Story
One day she went to a local mall on Yonge Street in North York to run some errands and checked her latest Lotto Max ticket. She realized that she had won a “Free Play” and decided to add “Encore”. A few days later she was in disbelief to find out that the ticket would turn out to be worth CA$60 million.
It was her husband who broke the news to her after she asked him to check the ticket himself and she was surprised with the greatest of news. In Pravatoudom’s words she “ecstatically happy and crying at the same time” the moment she realized that she had won the CA$60-million Lotto Max jackpot from the Dec. 1, 2020 draw. Pravatoudom shared that she always prayed for a “blessing” to happen to her family and the $60-million Lotto Max jackpot prize might be just it.
She added that with the money she and her husband planned to buy a new house, pay off some bills, help their family, and travel once the pandemic is over. The 57-year old Canadian will be more than capable to help out her children with whatever they want whether it is a car or new clothes.
And as a treat to herself, she will be purchasing some diamonds.
Fortune Cookie Numbers
Similar to Deng Pravatoudom, five co-workers from Brampton won CA$2,800,000 each from the Lotto 6/49 draw after using numbers from a fortune cookie. The five co-workers have been playing the draw-based lottery game for almost 8 years before they have been drawn as the winners on the October 24 draw thus claiming the CA$14-million Main prize.
Despite no winning tickets for the Lotto Max CA$50 million jackpot, one of the Maxmillion prizes was claimed by a ticket holder in Ontario. Both of the Maxmillions prizes estimate to over CA$1 million. The next Lotto Max draw will be held on January 19 and will be worth approximately CA$55 million, also there will be up to four Maxmillion prizes available.
