estoy interesado en montar una Base de datos en una pagina web con SQL Server 2000. La aplicacion Web estaría desarrollada en ASP que es desde donde se harían las consultas y donde habría que mandar los resultados.
¿Cómo es la mejor forma de hacer esta aplicacion?

Ok. Con respecto a la base de datos si lo puedes hacer por queno... la cuestion es que tienes que tener un sistema operativo compatible con los requerimientos del sql server 2000.. que seria.:
SQL Server 2000, all editions
Computer/Processor Intel® or compatible. Pentium 166 MHz or higher, Pentium PRO, Pentium III, or the minimum processor required for your operating system, which varies for SQL Server editions.

sa hacen a través de string de conexion con la base de datos en la cual es sql... es algo complicadito si quieres te doy una direccion de una pagina dnd podras inscribirte para que veas unos mabnuales muy buenos anota por favor esta dirección

* ¿se puede desarrollar la BD directamente en mi equipo y después pasarla al servidor o hay que desarrollarla directamente en el servidor?
¿se hace esto directamente en el servidor o se puede acceder remotamente, y cómo se hace? ¿con ISS?
* ¿como se hace la conexión entre ASP y SQL Server 2000? ¿me podéis dar un ejemplo?

Fijate que la mejor forma de hacer esto es tener alojada la pagina y la base d datos en un mismo servidor y distribuirla a traves de la red o mejor dicho publicarla a la www a través de tu servidor... por supuesto tienes que implementar la seguridad necesaria para ello... tienes que utilizar la tecnologia IIS de microsoft... te recomiendo que utilizes para desarrollar la pagina web asp.net en vez de asp ya que es mucho mas dinamica y a la ves te permite cambiar tu pagina en caliente sin tener que darle de baja al servidor... suerte y cualquier cosa me avisas
