Is there any solution to unlock locked PST files?

I have a bunch of PST files that I have locked a year back. Unfortunately, the diary in which I store passwords is also lost. I am in fear of losing my important data. Please help me out.

MS Outlook is an incredible email client to store emails, contacts, notes, messages, journals, and events in PST and OST formats. The tool is operated by Microsoft. The company has launched multiple versions of the tool so far and the latest version is in 2019. A PST file can be locked to restrict unauthorized access. In case, you forget the password of a PST file, you can retrieve it. There are two different ways to retrieve PST files- manual and a third-party program.

A Manual Method to Remove Password from PST File

The manual method is simple to follow, but the tragedy is you should know the password of the PST file so that you can remove or change the password.

  • Launch your MS Outlook app, from the Tool menu, take the cursor to Account Settings. (If you are using Outlook 2010, you will get the Account Setting option in File >> Info>> Account Settings
  • In the Account Setting window, select the option Data Files. After that select the PST file from which you want to remove the password.
  • Further, click on the Settings option
  • A new window will open, asking you to click on “Changed Password
  • In the next window, you will enter the old password, the new password and press the OK button

Use a PST Password Removal Tool

The manual method seems useless because you have not remembered the password. The best way to remove the password of PST files is to use a PST Password Removal app. You have the choice among multiple apps. One of the best applications to reset passwords of PST files is the PST Password Removal app. It is capable of removing passwords of multiple PST files at a time. It removes passwords of ANSI and Unicode versions of PST. It allows users to reset the password of PST files if they wish.
