Change your device's language
Your Chromebook’s features, like settings and menus, use the language you chose when you first set up your device.
At the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings and then Advanced.
In the "Languages and inputs" section, select Languages.
To change your Chromebook's language, next to "Device language," select Change.
Type or choose your preferred language.
Select Confirm and restart.
Add or remove web content languages
Add languages you understand and order them to read web content in your preferred language when it’s available.
At the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings and then Advanced.
In the "Languages and inputs" section, select Languages.
Under "Web content languages," select Add languages.
Type or choose your preferred language and select Add.
Next to your preferred language, select More .
Choose an option:
To show web content in this language when it’s available, select Move to the top. Your translations will appear in order of preference.
To remove a language from your preferred list, select Remove.
To make the Google Translate pop-up box for web content appear on Google Chrome, select Offer to translate pages in this language. This option appears only if you’ve turned on Translation suggestion.
Turn translation suggestions on or off
You can control whether Chrome will offer to translate webpages in other languages.
At the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings and then Advanced.
In the "Languages and inputs" section, select Languages.
At the bottom, turn Translation suggestion on or off.
Tip: If you’ve turned on Translation suggestion and want to read a webpage in a different language, in the address bar, select Translate .
